Hi All,
Would you mind answering me on the following two questions, although only second one matches discussion title:
1. I have ISO image file on my windows 8.1 desktop. Inside is NOT guest operating system but it is wanted application/software I want to use. It works only in Linux, thats why I have to use vmware player. I wonder if there is any method that I could use (even uploading this file somewhere, although it is very big size) to get the answer on the following question (the question isn't meant to ask you, who are reading this, but searching for method that provides answer on the question): Which Version of Linux guest OS do I have to use and pick from Version dropdown menu, so I can use the particular ISO file within vmware player?
2. My windows 8.1 is 64-bit. Therefore I randomely chose (i have no idea why and based on what) from Version dropdown menu, the version ''Ubuntu 64-bit''. It didn't work because when black console occurred, I got popped up error message which is (for now) out of the scope of this discussion. So I decided to randomely choose another Version. This time I chose ''Ubuntu'' (note: ''Ubuntu'' and ''Ubuntu 64-bit'' are two different entries in version dropdown menu!) and I didn't get the same error for which I just said it is out of the scope of this discussion. However I got different one, directly in console text and not via popped up window, which is the main reason for opening this discussion:
PXE-MOF:Exiting Intel PXE ROM
Operating system not found
Since I am completely new with vmware player, I am most likely going to ask the most basic question in the history of vmware player's existance: Do I have to install guest os first BEFORE using the ISO image of wanted application that works on Linux only?
Thank you in advance.
